VLOG: Hervey Bay & Airlie Beach

Named after an English Casanova, it’s no wonder that Hervey Bay’s seductive charms are difficult to resist. Its warm subtropical climate, long sandy beaches, calm blue ocean, and a relaxed, unpretentious local community lure all sorts of travellers to its shores.

Airlie Beach is a backpacker’s good-time town of the highest order, with cavernous bar/hostels lining the bright main drag and a lawn-surrounded swimming lagoon just beyond for sleeping it all off. Airlie Beach is also the main hub for Whitsunday Island and Great Barrier Reed cruises, something we just had to experience for ourselves.
