We stayed in the Noosa Heads area at the Nomads hostel. We were anxious about staying in another Nomads hostel after our nightmare experience in Auckland. Unfortunately this hostel wasn’t much better. We had an issue with the door lock to our private room, which you can hear Anthony rant about in our video here, and the facilities in the hostel were pretty rubbish and run down. We also had an air mattress rather than a proper mattress which didn’t help Anthony’s back problems one bit. On the plus side the staff were wonderful and really helpful, especially when we returned from our Fraser Island tour and Anthony needed to visit an emergency doctor.
Whilst waiting for our door lock to be fixed we took the opportunity to walk to Noosa Main Beach before heading along the Noosa Heads Coastal Track. Noosa Heads forms part of Noosa National Park and the coastal track provides beautiful views to the ocean and various different coves and beaches as well as the opportunity to see some of the wonderful native wildlife.
We had hoped to make it all the way to Hell’s Gate but sadly it was getting late and we didn’t fancy walking the trail in the dark so only made it to Dolphin Point. It was definitely worth taking the time to have a wander along the trail and get a bit of fresh air to clear our heads.
