The Big Trip: Charleston

Charleston is steeped in history; it is the oldest and second largest city in the state of South Carolina. Dubbed the “Holy City” due to the large number of churches throughout the city and it is a beautiful cultural blend of Southern US, English, French and West African elements. The city holds numerous arts and music events across a broad spectrum of genres.

We spent a lot of time walking around the city to take in the architecture of the beautiful homes, the local market and the activity on the river.

We paid a visit to the South Carolina Aquarium learning about their numerous conservation projects and even seeing a 4D showing of Polar Express!

As we’re big film geeks we even sort out the cinema used in The Notebook for Noah and Allie’s first date.

Here is a handful of our favourite photos from our whistle stop stay and here is a link to our video if you’ve not yet had chance to watch it.
