VLOG: Bay of Islands

Our transportation throughout New Zealand is run by a company called Kiwi Experience and they are responsible for driving us to some of the best locations around both the North and South Island.  Our first trip with them takes us further north from Auckland up to the Bay of Islands.

We spent several days up in the beachside town of Paihia, using it as the base for our trips out to see the Bay of Islands on the Far North District coast of New Zealand.

First we take a day trip out onto the ocean to visit the Islands on what’s called the Cream Trip, titled as such because the boat takes postal mail, milk or cream out to one of the solitary residential islands.  Included in the trip is the opportunity to swim with the resident bottlenose dolphins but unfortunately for us the pod we found had a baby with them.

We also visit the neighbouring island of Russell which houses the oldest pub/hotel in New Zealand, it was an incredibly photogenic location.
